Ethel E. Qualls

	Ethel E. Qualls, 80, of Tamaroa, passed away at 4:40 a.m. Thursday, February 22, 2001 at the Fair Acres Nursing Home in DuQuoin.
	Ethel had been employed at Mallory Corporation of DuQuoin, DuQuoin Packing and at MCA Records of Pinckneyville until her retirement in 1983.  She was a homemaker while helping her husband with the farming.  She also helped in showing cattle at fairs during the summer months.
	She was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church of DuQuoin.
	She was born January 14, 1921 at Okawville, the daughter of William and Mary (Ficken) Bartling.  She was baptized January 30, 1921 by Rev. J. Mueller and was confirmed on April 9, 1933 by Rev. Rohloff.
	 She married John N. Qualls on August 31, 1945 at Nashville and he survives.
	 She is survived by her husband of Tamaroa; one sister, Dora Stephenson of Berwyn; five sisters-in-law, Deline Bartling of Nashville, Loretta McConnell of Oakdale, Viola Ermisch of Berkley, Mae McCuiston of Rockford and Mildred Wegner of Schaumberg; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
	 She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Roy, Carl and Orwell Bartling and five brothers-in-law.
	 Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday, February 26 at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Duquoin with Rev. Christopher S. Esget officiating.
	Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa and from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church on Monday.
	Interment was in Sunset Memorial Park.
